On Thursday February 23, at approximately 11:37 am, Lieutenant Carl Magee responded to a fire located at 1899 River Road.  Upon arrival, it was learned that a 65-year-old male had fallen over a burning grill and had caught on fire.  He was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The incident is under investigation.

On Thursday February 23, at approximately 1:48 pm, Deputy Jeff Lee responded to the 7800 block of Carriage Lane in reference to a Burglary of a Habitation.  Upon arrival, the Reporting Person reported that an unknown person(s) kicked open the front door of the residence and entered.  An Omega Watch and miscellaneous jewelry valued at $500.00 was stolen.

On Thursday February 23, at approximately 10:44 pm, Deputy Matthew Schenck made a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Kell West.  The 33-year-old male driver was issued citations for No Drivers License and Expired Registration.  The vehicle was impounded.

On Thursday February 23, at approximately 8:04 pm, Corporal Ralph Burdick made a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Central Frwy.  A 22-year-old female passenger was placed under arrest.  She was transported to the Wichita County Detention Center and was charged with Possession of Marijuana under two ounces.

On Thursday February 23, at approximately 10:40 pm, Lieutenant Patrick McFerrin made a traffic stop in the 1800 block of Seymour Hwy.  The 23-year-old male driver was issued a citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Friday February 24, at approximately 3:28 am, Deputy Amanda Price attempted to stop a motorcycle on I-44 south of Bacon Switch Road.  The motorcycle fled north on I-44 and entered Oklahoma.  Deputies lost sight of the motorcycle when it took exit 5 off of I-44.

THE NEXT WICHITA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE CITIZENS ACADEMY WILL START ON THURSDAY MARCH 2.
