On Sunday April 10, at approximately 4:30 am, Wichita County Deputies responded to the 300 block of Huntington Lane in reference to a Burglary of a Building that had just occurred.  While in route to the scene, Deputies were notified that the suspect in the burglary had fled the scene in a blue pickup truck and had possibly struck a fence at the dead end of Huntington Lane.  Upon arrival, Deputies found a blue pickup truck stuck in the ditch.  A Neighbor, who had been contacted by the Reporting Person, found the vehicle and blocked it in until Deputies arrived.

The Driver of the vehicle, Grant Lynn Franklin, white male, 11-2-75 was placed under arrest.  Upon interviewing the Reporting Person, he stated that he observed a subject taking items from his property.  He stated that he fired one shot from a shotgun in the air and told the subject to lie down.  The subject got into the blue pickup truck and fled the scene.  The Reporting Person stated that he fired a second shot to disable the vehicle.  The vehicle continued travelling away from the scene and then drove into the fence at the dead end of Huntington Lane.  A 1500 psi Porter Cable Air Compressor was taken from the property and was later recovered in the blue pickup.

Franklin was transported to the Wichita County Detention Center and was charged with Burglary of a Building and Burglary of a Vehicle.
