Criminal Investigations Division

The mission of the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) is to apply investigative knowledge and skill to the criminal offense assigned to a CID investigator, in order to develop leads, facts, and any other relative information that may assist in solving the case with professionalism in an effective and timely manner.

Once a Deputy takes an offense report from the field, it is forwarded to CID and an investigator is assigned to the case. From this point forward all information regarding the case is handled by the investigator.

CID consists of deputies that are assigned to investigate criminal offenses such as, but not limited to the following:

  • Crimes against persons: Homicide, Family Violence, Child Abuse (Physical and Sexual), Assault, Domestic Violence Assault (between couples, spouses, ex-spouses and ex-couples , Threats, Harassment, and Kidnapping
    • **Sexual offenses are handled by a specially trained investigator
  • Crimes against property: Robbery, Burglary, Theft and Forgery/Credit Card Abuse
  • Auto Theft
  • Investigate and determine the origin of all fires to include grass, structures, etc.
