Public Fingerprint Service Resuming

The Wichita County Sheriff’s Office will resume fingerprint services to the public starting Monday, July 27th. You will need to make an appointment prior to arriving. There will be appointments for 9:30am, 10:30am, 3:30pm, and 4:00pm. No walk-ins will be seen. Call (940)766-8170 to schedule an appointment.

Daily Crime Brief, July 24, 2020

On Monday July 20, at approximately 3:30 pm, Deputy Greg Anderson made a traffic stop at the intersection of North Beverly and Euel.  The 31-year-old male driver was found to have a wrong, fictitious, altered or obscured registration displayed on the vehicle.

On Wednesday July 22, at approximately 8:00 am, Deputy Josh McGuinn and Deputy Roy Biter responded to the 700 block of Mesa in reference to a Threat.  Upon arrival, the Reporting Person reported that she had been assaulted and threatened by a family member.

On Thursday July 23, at approximately 10:51 pm, Deputy Jorge Ramirez made a traffic stop at the intersection of Hampstead and Kemp.  The 21-year-old male driver was issued a citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

On Friday July 17, at approximately 10:28 pm, Deputy Christopher Bashford, Deputy Brett Brasher and Lieutenant Garland Prince responded to the 1000 block of Central Frwy. in reference to a Disturbance.

On Saturday July 18, at approximately 6:44 pm, Deputy Sean Bigham and Deputy Aaron Perkins responded to the 2400 block of River Road in reference to a Theft.  Upon arrival, the Reporting Person reported that two subjects entered the property and attempted to steal a Ranch Hand Grill Guard and an exhaust system.

On Saturday July 18, at approximately 7:53 am, Deputy J.T. Mitchell responded to Bacon Switch Road between Rifle Range and Peterson Road in reference to an abandoned vehicle.  Upon arrival, the vehicle was found parked in a bar ditch and had been reported stolen out of Grandfield Oklahoma.

Daily Crime Brief July 16, 2020

On July 14, 2020, at approximately 11:58 a.m., Deputy Brett Brasher was responded to the 1300 block of Clover Lane.  Upon arrival the reporting party stated she witnessed a white male assaulting a white female.  After a short foot pursuit the suspect, a 40 year old male, was placed under arrest.  The victim, a 44 year old female, stated the male struck her in the face several times.  The male was transported to the Wichita County Detention Center and is being charged with Assault Family Violence Causing Injury and Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1 less than 1 gram. 

On July 15, 2020, at approximately 10:24 p.m., Lieutenant Greg Wilson located an abandoned vehicle at the East Road underpass of Interstate 44.  The vehicle did not have a valid registration and had a wrong registration sticker displayed.  The vehicle was impounded to prevent the consequences of theft. 

On July 15, 2020, at approximately 7:31 p.m., Deputy Jorge Ramirez and Corporal Jason Vandygriff were dispatched to the 1400 block of Highway 79 North in reference to a possible criminal trespass.  Upon arrival, the reporting party stated he wanted two males barred from the property.  A barred persons report was completed and the two male subjects were released from the scene.

Daily Crime Brief, July 14, 2020

On Monday July 13, at approximately 10:50 pm, Deputy Sean Bigham made a traffic stop in the 8100 block of Seymour Hwy.  The 25-year-old male driver was placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Wichita County Detention Center and was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and was also issued a citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Monday July 13, at approximately 3:31 pm, Deputy Amanda Ward made a traffic stop in the 700 block of Van Buren.  The 22-year-old male driver was issued a citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Monday July 13, at approximately 9:51 am, Deputy Gabriel Villarreal made a traffic stop at the intersection of U.S. 287 and Maurine.  A 26-year-old male passenger was placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Wichita County Detention Center and was charged with Possession of Marijuana over four ounces under five pounds.

On Friday July 10, at approximately 10:31 pm, Deputy Darryl Waddleton and Deputy Jorge Ramirez responded to the 1400 block of S.H. 79 North in reference to a Theft.  Upon arrival, the Reporting Person reported that a subject entered the property and stole two tool boxes containing miscellaneous tools valued at $400.00.

On Friday July 10, at approximately 2:30 pm, Deputy Christopher Bashford responded to intersection of U.S. 287 and Burnett Ranch Road in reference to a subject in need of assistance.  Upon arrival, a 24-year-old female was transported to the Red River Hospital for medical evaluation.

On Saturday July 11, at approximately 7:30 pm, Deputy Hunter Deason responded to the intersection of I-44 and East Road in reference to an unoccupied vehicle check.  Upon arrival, the vehicle was impounded after the registered owner could not be contacted.

On Saturday July 11, at approximately 10:50 am, Deputy Brett Brasher responded to the 2300 block of Horseshoe Lake Road in reference to a Burglary of a Building.  Upon arrival, the Reporting Person reported that an unknown person(s) entered a storage building and stole several items.

On Wednesday July 8, at approximately 3:56 pm, Deputy Christopher Bashford responded to the Iowa Park Police Department in reference to an Assault that occurred in the 2200 block of F.M. 1206.  Upon arrival, the Reporting Person reported that she had been assaulted by a family member.

On Wednesday July 8, at approximately 7:32 am, Deputy Christopher Bashford and Deputy Josh McGuinn to the 2300 block of F.M. 368 in reference to a Theft.  Upon arrival, the Reporting Person reported that an unknown person(s) entered the property and stole a 16 foot tandem flatbed trailer containing a pallet of rye grass, 8 rolls of wire, t-posst, a t-post driver and wire stretchers.

On Tuesday July 7, at approximately 8:20 pm, Deputy J.J. Hernandez responded to the 1000 block of Wesley Drive in reference to a Civil Matter.  Upon arrival, a 40-year-old female was barred from the property.

On Tuesday July 7, at approximately 6:02 pm, Deputy Hunter McCain responded to the 3400 block of Old Electra Road in reference to a Theft.  Upon arrival, the Reporting Person reported that they gave a subject $3,250.00 as a down payment to build a storm shelter.  The Reporting Person reported that the subject never returned to start the work.
