Interdiction Deputies Make Highway Bust on Pair of Vehicles

On November 05, 2016 at approximately 2:30 p.m.; Wichita County Drug Interdiction Deputies conducted a traffic stop on two vehicles travelling together on US 287 South at FM 2384.  Bundles of marijuana were found in the natural voids of the vehicles’ doors.  One vehicle contained 6 pounds of marijuana and 244 grams of hash.  The second vehicle contained 8 pounds of marijuana, 680 grams of hash, and $1,112.00.  A 26 year old male and three 30 year old males, all from Florida, were arrested and transported to the Wichita County Detention Center.

Daily Crime Brief, November 4, 2016

On Wednesday November 2, at approximately 2:43 pm, Corporal Josh Brown made a traffic stop in the 2400 block of Holliday.  The 29-year-old male driver was placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Wichita County Detention Center and was charged with Possession of Marijuana under two ounces.

On Thursday November 3, at approximately 12:13 pm, Deputy Jeff Lee responded to the 5800 block of Kell Blvd. in reference to a Threat.  Upon arrival, the Reporting Person reported that he was threatened by a subject while he was on Shallowfield Road.

On Thursday November 3, at approximately 10:22 pm, Deputy Matthew Schenck and Deputy Cole McGarry responded to the 1200 block of Bell Road in reference to a Disturbance.  Upon arrival, a 57-year-old male was placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Wichita County Detention Center and was charged with Assault/Family Violence Impeding Breathing.

On Thursday November 3, at approximately 9:48 am, Deputy Chief Derrald Choate and Deputy Scott Chapel responded to the 1900 block of Peterson Road South in reference to a possible Burglary of a Habitation.  Upon arrival, the Reporting Person reported that the former owner of the property entered the residence without permission and left the front door open.

On Thursday November 3, at approximately 11:25 pm, Deputy Josh McGuinn made a traffic stop at the intersection of South Rosewood and Oak.  The 30-year old male driver was issued a citation for No Drivers License.  The vehicle was impounded.

On Thursday November 3, at approximately 9:27 am, Sergeant Sergio Teruel responded to the 3400 block of Clover Road in reference to a Structure Fire.  Upon arrival, the residence was found to be fully engulfed in fire.  The fire is under investigation.

On Friday November 4, at approximately 12:23 am, Deputy Amanda Price made a traffic stop in the 2800 block of Southwest Parkway.  The 23-year-old male driver was issued citations for no drivers license and fail to signal lane changed.  The vehicle was impounded.

On Friday November 4, at approximately 1:39 am, Deputy Matthew Schenck made a traffic stop in the 1800 block of Kell Blvd.  The 25-year-old male driver was placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Wichita County Detention Center and was charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

On Sunday October 30, at approximately 11:59 pm, Deputy Amanda Price made a traffic stop at the intersection of Iowa Park Road and Wellington Lane.  The 51-year-old male driver was placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Wichita County Detention Center and was charged with Driving While License Invalid-Enhanced.

On Monday October 31, at approximately 4:22 pm, Lieutenant William Rutledge made a traffic stop in the 9400 block of F.M. 368 North.  The 34-year-old female driver was placed under arrest.  She was transported to the Wichita County Detention Center and was charged with Driving While License Invalid with previous conviction.

On Tuesday November 1, at approximately 10:05 am, Sergeant Sergio Teruel and Deputy Roy Biter responded to the 600 block of Bell Road in reference to a Burglary of a Habitation in progress.  Upon arrival, a 43-year-old female was barred from the property.

On Tuesday November 1, at approximately 7:30 am,  Sergeant Sergio Sergio Teruel and Deputy Roy Biter responded to the 2600 block of S.H. 258 East in reference to a Criminal Mischief.  Upon arrival, the Reporting Person reported that an unknown person(s) damaged a highline wire and a poly pipeline on the property.

On Wednesday November 2, at approximately 1:22 am, Lieutenant Carl Magee and Deputy Cole McGarry made a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Central Frwy.  The 21-year-old female driver was placed under arrest.  She was transported to the Wichita County Detention Center and was charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

The visitation for the Thanksgiving holiday week for both jail facilities will be as follows:

Monday 11/21- 8A to 8P letters A-M

Tuesday 11/22 8A to 8P letters N-Z

Wednesday 11/23 8A to 8P Solitary and keep away.

The same visitation rules will apply. Two 20 minute visitation periods per inmate.
