Daily Crime Brief, March 28, 2016

On Friday March 25, at approximately 10:08 am, Lieutenant Carl Magee, Deputy Lance Brumley, Deputy Kristian Valdez and Deputy Amanda Price responded to the 1700 block of Seymour Hwy. to serve an arrest warrant.  Upon arrival, a 26-year-old female was placed under arrest.  She was transported to the Wichita County Detention Center and was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 under one gram, and four outstanding warrants for two counts of Violation of Probation-Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and two counts of Public Intoxication.

On Friday March 25, at approximately 7:05 pm, Deputy Christopher Salas responded to the 2200 block of Schmoker Road in reference to a Burglary of a Building.  Upon arrival, the Reporting Person reported that an unknown person(s) broke into several storage buildings on the property and stole two Wildgame Innovations cameras valued at $140.00, a Ret 7 knife valued at $100.00, one Back River Knife valued at $90.00, two Coleman propane heaters valued at $100.00, one T burner valued at $30.00, miscellaneous game calls valued at $500.00, miscellaneous tools, binoculars and hunting gear.

On Friday March 25, at approximately 2:45 pm, Corporal Ralph Burdick responded to the 8000 block of Seymour Hwy. in reference to a structure fire.  Upon arrival, a pile of brush was found to be on fire.

On Saturday March 26, at approximately 10:36 pm, Deputy Christopher Salas made a traffic stop at the intersection of Ridgeway and Maurine.  The 53-year-old male driver was placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Wichita County Detention Center and was charged with Driving While License Invalid-Enhanced and Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 under one gram in a Drug Free Zone.

On Saturday March 26, at approximately 10:00 am, Deputy Brian Koschak made a traffic stop in the 100 block of Flood Street.  The 25-year-old male driver was issued citations for No Drivers License and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.  The vehicle was impounded.

On Saturday March 26, at approximately 11:19 am, Deputy Gabriel Villarreal and Deputy Justin Mitchell made two separate traffic stops on two vehicles, a U-Haul truck at the intersection of U.S. 287 and Burnett Ranch Road and a Toyota on U.S. 287 near the weigh Station.  $11,542.00 in currency was seized from the Toyota.  Fifty two pounds of Hydroponic Marijuana valued at $332,800.00 and several items related to manufacturing hash was seized from the U-Haul truck.  The 46-year-old male driver of the U-Haul was placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Wichita County Detention Center and was charged with Possession of Marijuana over fifty pounds under to thousand pounds and Money Laundering.

On Saturday March 26, at approximately 8:03 am, Deputy Paul Casillas and Deputy Lance Brumley responded to the 1900 block of Bailey Road in reference to a Disturbance that had occurred on March 25.  Upon arrival, the Reporting Person reported that there was a verbal disturbance over a child custody issue.

On Saturday March 26, at approximately 8:27 pm, Deputy Christopher Salas made a traffic stop at the intersection of South Rosewood and East Scott.  The 22-year-old female driver was placed under arrest.  She was transported to the Wichita County Detention Center and was charged with three outstanding warrants for Speeding in a school zone-33/20, No Drivers License in Possession and Fail to Maintain Financial Responsibility.

On Sunday March 27, at approximately 1:10 am, Sergeant Mark Whipple made a traffic stop at the intersection of Bluff and 8th Street.  The 37-year-old male driver was placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Wichita County Detention Center and was charged with Driving While Intoxicated-Enhanced.

On Sunday March 27, at approximately 10:26 pm, Deputy Christopher Salas made a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Brook.  The 39-year-old male driver was placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Wichita County Detention Center and was charged with Possession of Marijuana under two ounces.
