Daily Crime Brief, December 9, 2015

On Tuesday December 8, at approximately 1:45 pm, Deputy Justin Mitchell and Deputy Gabriel Villarreal made a traffic stop on two vehicles at the intersection of U.S. 287 and F.M. 1739.  Deputy Villarreal’s Canine, Deputy Cane alerted on one of the vehicles.  74 pounds of marijuana and $474,000.00 in currency was seized.  The 38-year-old male driver, Steven Lamar Eldridge, was placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Wichita County Detention Center and was charged with Possession of Marijuana over fifty pounds under two thousand pounds.

On Tuesday December 8, at approximately 8:00 am, Sergeant Sergio Teruel checked on an unoccupied vehicle that was parked on S.H. 258 just east of Blaker Road.  The vehicle was found to have been stolen.  The vehicle was released to the owner upon her arrival.
